Huge Score/Price Ratio on this Montepulciano from Valle Reale!

In his review of the 2018 Valle Reale Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Ian D'Agata discusses just how difficult it is to make a wine this good. He then proceeds to award a score of 94 points and quote a price of just $17. That's a remarkable rating for such a low priced wine, and today we make it even more irresistible by offering it for 25% less!

" I'm not sure readers fully realize just how hard it is to obtain a result of this level in a cold-weather environment such as that of Popoli."
- Ian D'Agata, 9/2019

At $12.79, the 2018 Valle Reale Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a steal. The wine opens up immediately in the glass with bright flavors of cherry, raspberry, red plum and fresh herbs along with a wisp of black tea and a touch of black pepper. Quite refined, it has a long finish that keeps you fully engaged throughout.

2018 Valle Reale Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Abruzzo, Italy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This southern Italian wine is simply delicious. The flavor profile is complex with bright sour cherry, red plum, raspberry, blueberry, fresh oregano, black tea leaves, earthy tar, a touch of spicy black pepper and licorice. The mouthfeel is dense, but not heavy, with a nicely balanced bit of chewy tannin.
You can certainly enjoy the Valle Reale on its own, but to capture its full beauty, pair this versatile red with roasted pork shoulder, eggplant Parmesan or even a meat lovers pizza!  The 94-point Vinous review captures how special it really is...
"Bright red. Red cherry and flowers on the perfumed nose; much more fragrant than the 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Then fresh and juicy, with bright red fruit repeating in the mouth. Finishes long and savory, showcasing notable purity. Outstanding cool-climate Montepulciano of noteworthy refinement. Very, very well done; I'm not sure readers fully realize just how hard it is to obtain a result of this level in a cold-weather environment such as that of Popoli. This success speaks loudly of the capability and talent of owner Leonardo Pinzolo and his Valle Reale technical team. Drinking Window: 2019 - 2024."
- 94 Points, Vinous - Ian D'Agata (9/2019)
Vinous quotes a release price of $17, which is already crazy low. Our price is 25% less. This one is a total no-brainer!
