Marshall was selected as one of 6 FCPS high schools to participate in the Innovation Challenge Showcase on Sunday, January 26th, 2020

The Parsons Innovation Challenge invites individuals or teams of high school students in grades 9-12 to use the engineering design process to solve a real-world problem. Participants spend one month collaborating and becoming deeply engaged in the challenge while documenting their progress and designs. The program culminates in an exciting one-day showcase when finalist teams demonstrate their solutions in front of judges during the Parsons' Executive Summit.

The Challenge
As an individual or in a team of up to 4 students, respond to the challenge question "What next-gen idea do you have to make your world a better place? Identify ways technology can be applied to solve problems or challenges you see in your home, school, or community."

The Format
Each school will shortlist up to 5 teams (1-4 persons each) to participate. Up to 5 individual and 5 team finalists will be selected from participating high schools to showcase their projects. Finalists will be notified by email by January 20, 2020.  Parsons' Technical Fellows will mentor the finalists to showcase their solution and present.

Finalists will display a concept board and present the problem and a prototype solution in a Science Fair booth format. Parsons' employees will have the opportunity to engage and discuss the projects with students. Finalists should be prepared to discuss their design, explain the engineering process and showcase their technical prototype in approximately 5 minutes each.  Each submission will be scored by a panel of Parsons' Executives based on a predetermined scoring criterion. All winners will be announced at the showcase.
