LEAN in Action
ABCO's Lean Journey
Join us as ABCO's, Mike Stoker, offers practical ideas and resources for your organization as you navigate (or begin) your Continuous Improvement journey!
As ABCO continues to develop its lean methodology, the group has made good progress to date: 6S has been implemented throughout the plant, A3 reports are being used, Kanban systems are in place, and Standard Work is being followed. Mike will talk about ABCO's successes and failures during this journey and what he and the organization have learned from them.
About the Presenter - Mike Stoker - ABCO Lean Champion
Mike Stoker is the Lean Champion at ABCO, Inc. in Dallas, which specializes in short-run printing and binding. His first introduction to Continuous Improvement was as the Production Manager for Classic Color in the mid-1990s. Then, as Vice President for the Global Group, Mike read the book Toyota Way and was inspired to begin studying lean principles and implementing basic visual management tools. He joined ABCO in 2014 to kick-start their lean journey. Mike has actively participated in PIA MidAmerica's Lean in Action group the past four years and was a speaker at last year's PIA National Continuous Improvement Conference.

FBI SCAM ALERT
The FBI issued a warning last week because it's that time of year, when phishing scams abound. The scenario is something like this: Employee receives an email purportedly from the HR dept. The email asks for personal and/or financial information OR it provides a link that supposedly leads to their payroll account. The link leads to the bad guys posing as payroll and they ask the employee to fill out a form with personal information, including a social security number.
It is suggested you alert your employees so they don't fall for the scam.
