As part of our grant project to help train individuals and families in Riverside County, the Autism Society Inland Empire is looking for adults over the age of 18 years who have autism, or a developmental disability to become Peer Trainers for Disaster Preparedness Training.  

If chosen trainer will work at least two events and be paid $100 stipend for each event.   Tentative dates are Sun, April 19th 12-5pm at the San Bernardino Valley College and Sun, Oct 25th in Riverside time to be determined.  

- Be willing to educate peers on disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

- Advocate for the needs of individuals with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disability by sharing concerns with leaders.

- May assist with clean up or set up at events. 

This position will be considered an independent contract position.  To apply for this position, you must attend the free workshop on Sat, Feb 1st from 1-3 at the Corona Library.  After the workshop you can decide if you would like to apply.  Attending this workshop is not guarantee of a job.   Only 5 applicants will be selected in 2020 to service Riverside County residents.  A completed application or interview does not guarantee selection.  

Parents may attend this workshop but must sit in the back and not participate in the training.
