If you are like me, you absolutely hate the constant appeals for money from politicians! They land in our inboxes daily -- sometimes several times a day.
It has been more than five years since I last sent out an appeal for funds or held a fundraiser in Northern Virginia. Asking supporters for contributions that are not absolutely needed strikes me as wrong. So I haven't done it.
But, now, I really do need your help. My campaign fund is shrinking and I must replenish it. As Senate Democratic whip and a member of Caucus Leadership, I have financial responsibilities to my Democratic Caucus and to our statewide candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General. And, frankly, I have to build a "war chest" for my next re-election campaign.
If you approve of my progressive positions on issues facing Virginia -- issues like fiscal responsibility, reproductive choice, human and immigrant rights, environmental stewardship, and public safety -- I would be most grateful for your help.
Thank you for your support and generosity. I will be personally grateful for every contribution, no matter how small or large. And, I hope I won't need to send another fund-raising email anytime soon!
