Pleasure is a powerful motivator. How can we use it in our lives for the greatest good? As we begin 2020 with the January Soul Matters theme of “integrity,” we’ll explore our drives for comforting and enjoyable experiences, what they can teach us, and how they can help us.

Meredith Olson (she/her pronouns) is a health educator, massage therapist, and the Ministerial Intern for the UU Church of Bloomington-Normal. She formerly served congregations as an Interim Religious Educator and continues to enjoy training Our Whole Lives (OWL) facilitators.

SOCIAL JUSTICE NEWS

UUCUC Shared Offering. Each month a selected organization is chosen to receive half of our weekly Sunday plate collections, designated checks written to UUCUC with organization's name written in the memo line, cash envelopes designated for "Shared Offering" within the specified month and on-line donations through our GIVE WEBPAGE .

During the month of January, we will support Champaign County Bailout Coalition. No one should be in jail because they can’t pay their bond. Your donation to the January Shared Offering will allow CCBC to pay the bail amount of $500 or less for people unable to afford it. Approximately 70% of people in our jails at any given time have not been convicted of any crime. Many of those individuals could be released, but they can’t afford to pay the bail amount that the Judge has set. CCBC believes that jail is the worst place that a person can be. Read more....
