Congratulations
Congratulations to  Tianna Zimmerman from Englefeld, SK. She is Canada’s Special Olympics Athlete of the Year.    “Today, she is a Special Olympics World Champion after bringing home gold in the women’s relay and bronze in the 800-metre freestyle from the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019." Tianna received her award on November 14th at the Special Olympics Canada National Awards Night in Toronto. You can read more about her and the other recipients  here .  

Tianna was part of Team Prairie Central for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games, where she earned a bronze medal in 100m Back - Special Olympics female competition. We are so very proud of you, Tianna.
PCDSCR Calling for Directors
The Prairie Central District Board of Directors always welcome community minded sport, culture and recreation enthusiasts to join them on the board. Up to eight directors serve two year terms and meet 5 times/year. At this time there is a vacancy for one director . If you are interested or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a Director or the District office in Wynyard.

The Saskatchewan Libraries Conference 2020 will be held May 7-8 in Regina. They are currently accepting submissions for conference sessions with their theme being 'Building the Future' which reflects the essential role of libraries in building and promoting diversity, inclusivity, and equity as well as providing space for cultural and public engagment. Click here  to view the call for proposals which ends December 18, 2019.

SPRA are calling for nominations for someone to sit on the Recreation Section Review Committee . This committee is responsible for adjudicating Annual Funding applications and follow-up reports of Provincial Recreation Associations. Submit nominations on or before January 17, 2020 . Upcoming Grants
The deadline to apply for Creative Kids funding is Friday, December 6, 2019. This funding supports opportunities for Saskatchewan children and youth to participate in creative activities such as art, music, dance, theatre, and culture. For more information or to apply, click here
