We have received questions from nearby residents regarding the recent increased noise level at the Pike Brook Sewer Treatment Plant by Harlingen Road. This is a temporary condition. The noise is due to the use of a stand-by generator. This was necessary to keep the plant operating when its power supply became damaged last week. The plant's underground power supply source was disrupted, causing an electrical fire and explosion within it. The plant has had to rely on the backup generator while repairs are being made to the underground power system.
The repairs are almost completed and the stand-by generator will be taken offline either by end of work today or tomorrow at latest. Normal noise levels will be restored at that time.
We appreciate our residents' patience and apologize for this temporary and unavoidable situation while repairs are underway. If you have any questions, please contact
[email protected]. Thank you.
