3rd Grade Students Visit Sac State for Learning Outside of the Classroom
Natomas Unified School District is partnering with Sacramento State to bring all third graders to campus to experience what college is like on a field trip called "College Vision." Through these field trips, students have the opportunity to tour the campus and football stadium, participate in outdoor activities, and even speak with current Sacramento State students about subjects like math, science, you name it! Not only do students get to learn outside of the classroom, this partnership supports the district's vision, goals, and core beliefs. Take a look at all the fun in this video.
Heron School Embraces its Diversity
One of the Core Beliefs of NUSD is Our Diversity is a Strength. Heron School celebrated its diverse school community with Heron United and most recently a Sikh Awareness Assembly in honor of Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month. Students were able to ask questions and learn more about their Sikh classmates.

Natomas Community Spreads Holiday Cheer

On the Friday before Thanksgiving recess, Joey's Food Locker at Natomas High School distributed turkeys and traditional Thanksgiving sides to Natomas families in need. Keller Williams Realty donated the majority of the turkeys while NUSD families supplied much of the groceries, which ranged from cranberries, beans, and corn. This wouldn't have been possible without the outpouring support and contributions by NUSD staff, families, and stakeholders. Thank you, NUSD community, for making this such a special place to live, work, and go to school. Happy holidays to all of you!
