Dear Families and Friends of OLQP:
Catholic schools are ministries of the Catholic Church. The mission of the Catholic school is to provide an education in both the intellectual and moral virtues, fostering a love for wisdom and truth, while preparing individuals for a fully human life at the service of others and for life in the world to come. As such, the Catholic school is "intentionally directed to the growth of the whole person... An integral education aims to develop gradually every capability of every student: his/her intellectual, physical, psychological, moral, and religious capacities. The curriculum of a Catholic school must integrate faith, culture, and life. "
"The Church affirms that parents are the primary educators of their children. Like a good mother, the Church offers help to families by establishing Catholic schools that ensure the integral formation of their children." (The Holy See's Teachings on Catholic Schools, Archbishop J. Michael Miller, CSB, Congregation for Catholic Education, 2006)
Twice per school year, parents are invited to conference with teachers to strengthen our partnership. Parent-Teacher Conferences are next week on February 22 and 23. Please sign up to visit with your child's teacher. If you are unable to meet during the prescribed time, email the teacher/s and set up an alternative time that is mutually agreeable. The conference is a time to celebrate your child's strengths as well as identify strategies to promote growth and development. Working together, amazing things can be accomplished!
Thank you for being part of the mission and ministry of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam,
Mrs. Marianne Mechura, M.Ed.
