Feeling Extra Thankful

Dear AL Community,

I am so proud and grateful to be the leader of our amazing community. We have a lot of reasons to be thankful this season:
  • Our 2019 test scores are out and AL is at the top as the highest performing charter school in Missouri, outperforming the state & local suburban districts! Keep an eye out for more details in a follow-up email.
  • We have very dedicated and hard-working teachers.
  • Our generous donors allow us to keep doing what we do and offer more to our students.
  • A great time at the Get Down last Saturday, another well-organized PTO event.
  • A supportive community as we take the final planning steps toward opening our very own high school this Fall. Click here for the presentation slides.
  • Last, but not least, an amazing display of food and gift cards organized by the PTO & provided by parents yesterday at all three campuses
8th grade parents, mark your calendars for a December 12th, 5 pm meeting about the possibility of a French college credit from UMKC. A professor from UMKC will be at the Armour campus to go into details about the program and answer any questions you may have.

Merci beaucoup!

Have a great and restful Thanksgiving break!

Un Grand Merci

Dear families,

In this season of giving thanks, we are so grateful for our supportive parent community. Thankful Thursday is always one of the best days of the year. Our new teachers were especially astounded by the wonderful food spread and the gift cards.

In addition to the great food, we also want to thank our volunteers who make Generations day, the PBIS ticket store at Oak and Cherry, the Holiday Mart, and so many other events possible.  We couldn't do it without you!

We also want to acknowledge the generosity of our school community in a time of need: we've had 2 families who experienced the loss of a parent in the past few weeks.  The outpouring of kindness, support, and financial gifts has been truly impressive.

Thank you so much and happy Thanksgiving!

Parking at the Oak CampusParking

car-sales-lot2.jpg The past few events that we have invited parents to visit students during the school day, we have witnessed a number of parents parked in the lot where they should not be, blocking in other cars, blocking entrances and exits, and the general flow of traffic.

Please respect designated parking spots in the parking lot, if there are no available spots, you must find parking on the street (while also paying attention to where you can legally park).  It is very difficult to find the owners of illegally parked cars, and if the problem persists, we will be forced to have cars towed or ticketed.

Thank you for your understanding,
Jessica Wallace
