Scammers Posing as Pastors Target Local Churchgoers
|
Be aware that there have been a number of attempts in Baltimore by scammers, and a recent incident unfortunately happened to one of our churches. Text messages claiming to be from the pastor solicited donations in the form of gift card codes.
And there have been others. Pastors in the area and across the country report that their names also had been used by fraudsters in similar attempts to grift their congregants. Please spread the word, and ask your members to double-check any text, email or phone requests for donations.

Pastors and Clerks of Session:
Remember that your Annual Statistical Report must be approved by your Session before submitting. Do not click “submit” until your session has approved the report.
Deadline is February 12
.
This year the Clerks' Annual Questionnaire, prepared by the PCUSA Office of Research Services, has been sent at the same time as Annual Statistical Reporting. This has come as a surprise to us and to other presbyteries. Only the statistical report has to be approved by sessions prior to submitting but both are important. Please contact Mary Gaut at the presbytery office with any questions you may have. We are sorry for any confusion this new scheduling has created.
Deadline is Friday, February 14
