Episcopal Youth Event

The Episcopal Youth Event or EYE (pronounced E-Y-E) is a triennial event for the entire Episcopal Church. Over 2000 people (high school students, their adult mentors, and Bishops from around the church) come together and live on a college campus for a little under a week. Time is spent is worship (amazing, awesome and very memorable worship), large group presentations, small group discussions on the presentations (youth lead), workshops on a variety of topics (from meditation to outreach, from drumming to knitting, and everything in between), and a lot of time hanging out and meeting people from all around the world.

Open for students currently in grades 9-12.

Join us online every Sunday at 9pm for a time of Connection and Compline. Using the Zoom app on your phone of computer, you can spend a few moments sharing a peak, pit, praise, or prayer and then join with the group in praying Compline. The link to join us is:  https://zoom.us/j/494218709

Rooted in Jesus
January 21-24, 2020
Atlanta, GA

It's time for the Episcopal Church to come together as disciples of Jesus and take a bold new step into the next decade. Let's spend four days together, talking about discipleship, leadership, evangelism, formation, preaching, and much more-so we can go out and be the Body of Christ.

This conference is an opportunity for those who are interested in: Evangelism, Formation,  Mission, Leadership, Communications, Preaching, or Stewardship to learn from some of the best teachers in the Episcopal Church. Formerly known as the Forma Conference, it is now sponsored by a number of organizations including FORMA, Episcopal Church Foundation, Forward Movement, Missional Voices, Evangelism Matters, and other.

From the Missioner
December is here and we are in the Season of Advent, a time of waiting and preparing for the Christ Child. I pray the your Advent is filled with holiness and some periods of calm. I know that everyone is busy and can feel overloaded at times. Be sure to take the time to breathe deeply and know that God loves you so much, that Jesus became human.

I will be taking some time off and away starting on Dec 13th and returning on Jan 6th, but I'm not sure how much of the first part of that vacation will be calm. Julie and I are going to Walt Disney World to celebrate our 21st Anniversary. After Disney, we will be spending Christmas with Julie's mom and step-dad before returning to the Diocese right before the New Year.

2020 is going to be an amazing year, filled with old and new things. We will be consecrating our new Bishop and trying out some new ideas. Please know that I am here to help you in your ministry and I am excited and filled with hope as to what the New Year will bring for us in the Diocese of Michigan.

I hope and pray that you have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you in 2020.
