About Your Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI)

As a reminder, all Engage clients receive EPLI coverage  at no additional cost. Our policy remains unique to the industry and provides significant protections against claims made by employees alleging discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, demotion or discipline, and other employment-related issues. 

Negotiations for the 2020 policy renewal have just been completed. Due to market conditions in California, our insurance carrier partner required a change in the deductible for all claims in that state for new and existing clients. Effective on the policy renewal date of 12/1/2019, the per claim deductible for all California claims is $50,000.

There are no other changes to the policy or deductibles . The per claim deductible for clients with 999 employees or less remains at $25,000 for all states other than California, and the per claim deductible for all clients with 1,000 or more employees remains at $50,000.

To keep a lower deductible in California than was originally proposed by the carrier, Engage will assume a higher burden of the premium. We have confirmed that this is still a highly competitive deductible, due in large part to Engage's superior HR delivery model through our employment attorneys in the field.
