Administrative Appointments
Boise, ID  -- (06/1/2017) --  Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments, effective the start of the 2017-18 school year:
 
Jason Adams - Principal, Adams Elementary School
 
Jason Adams' career in the Boise School District spans 20 years. During that time, he has served students as a part-time math teacher (Hillside Jr. High - 1997-98), math teacher (North Jr. High - 1998-01), language arts teacher and coach (Les Bois Jr. High - 2002-05), junior high school counselor (Fairmont Jr. High - 2005-12), high school counselor (Boise High - 2012-15), and Assistant Principal (Boise High - 2015 to present).
 
Mr. Adams is a dedicated educator eager to build on his proven track record of commended performance with a passion for education and unwavering commitment to optimizing student and school success. Mr. Adams has experience implementing District initiatives and is focused on implementing the District's Strategic Plan Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and citizenship.
 
Mr. Adams earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Northwest Nazarene University, Master of Arts Degree in School Counseling from University of West Alabama and Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.


Mark Jones - District Office 

Mark Jones is a respected instructional leader who has served Boise School District students since 1984.  He began his public school education career as a third and fifth grade teacher at Taft Elementary School where he worked from 1984 to 1989. From 1989 to 1997, Mr. Jones taught fifth grade students at Liberty Elementary School. From 1997 to 1998, he worked as Assistant Principal at Trail Wind and Riverside elementary schools.  Mr. Jones became Principal of Lowell Elementary School in 1999 and held that position until 2004. In 2006, Mr. Jones was selected to serve as Principal of Maple Grove Elementary School. In 2013, Mr. Jones was then appointed to lead Adams Elementary School as Principal - a position he currently holds.

Mr. Jones is an energetic, passionate, and knowledgeable school leader who builds a positive school culture conducive to academic success for each and every student.  He is popular with students and staff members and is fond of referring to his favorite cultural icon, Rosie the Riveter ("We can do it!") as proof that success is possible for each and every student.  Mr. Jones is committed to the District's Strategic Plan Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and in life. 

During his public school career, Mr. Jones has served on and been involved with various District and State level committees and initiatives, including District Strategic Plan Committee, Implementation of the STAR Reading and Math Program, Master Teacher Premium, and he currently serves on the Board of Idaho Association of Elementary Principals.  Mr. Jones was awarded the Gem Distinguished Service Award from the Idaho Association of Elementary School Principals Association.
 
Mr. Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University in 1984 and a Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho in 1998.
