Statement from NAHB Chairman Granger MacDonald on House Passage of Health Care Bill
Granger MacDonald, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and a home builder and developer from Kerrville, Texas, today issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 1628, the American Health Care Act of 2017:
"NAHB commends the House for passing the American Health Care Act. Our members are dominated by small businesses and more and more of their bottom line is being eaten up by rising health insurance premiums. This legislation marks the first step in returning affordability to the health care system.
"We are hopeful that the Trump administration will take additional steps to curb costs, while the Congress pursues important legislation to allow small businesses to join together in insurance pools across state lines. Together, these actions will bring-much needed reforms to the health care system."
