Principal Note:
It was a quick week and we only have two more weeks before we go on break. Please note, that we lost a week due to the late Thanksgiving. Our students did a good job transitioning back from the holiday break. As I walk through the classrooms they are working on projects in social studies, reading a book reading, writing in language arts, experimenting in science and having fun in both their elective and enrichment classes.
This week we will begin our door decorating contest and we are reminding students about the rocking holiday bash on December 20th. If you would like to help, please notify Ms. Walters.

Fue una semana rápida y solo tenemos dos semanas más antes de tomar un descanso. Tenga en cuenta que perdimos una semana debido al último Día de Acción de Gracias. Nuestros estudiantes hicieron un buen trabajo al regresar de las vacaciones. Pirates in the Building
Don’t worry, it's only 6th Grade Language Arts teachers Mr. Grampp and Mr. Schroeder who decided to dress up as they spoke to the students about the importance of a good hook, so they became pirates. Thank you pirates for teaching our students how to use a good hook.

Enrichments
In this new student leadership class students worked on their teamwork skills. The goal was to stand on the towel and flip it over without anyone stepping onto the carpet, and they pulled it off!

Electives:
As was mentioned earlier, the bands and orchestra will be having their first performance of the year on Tuesday, December 17. This will include 7th and 8th grade bands, orchestra, and drumline. Students are to stay after school on 12/17 and will stay for the event. Parents, please return the signed concert forms to Ms. Gilmore asap.
The classes have been working hard on their music for the event.
Select band students who perform with the Citywide Marching Band have a performance this weekend at the Parade of Lights on Friday and Saturday. These are dedicated students who practice with the group every Wednesday evening.
The Winter Showcase will also feature artwork from quarters one and two. Please come to see students excel in their creative ways through music and art.
Electivos:
Como se mencionó anteriormente, las bandas y la orquesta tendrán su primera presentación del año el martes 17 de diciembre. Esto incluirá bandas, orquesta y batería de séptimo y octavo grado. *Flag Football is still awaiting their first playoff game to be played. They were crowned Southwest Conference Champion with a record of 4-0 in the regular season. We look forward to their continued success!
*Basketball practice is underway. If your student plays basketball make sure they are prepared everyday for practice. Physicals, Parent Permission and $25 Athletic fees are due ASAP. If you have any questions please email Mr. Paavola,
