What Are the Needs of Cancer Survivors Five Years or More After Treatment?
 

In an article in Oncology Nursing News, CancerCare social worker Victoria Puzo addresses the continuing needs of cancer survivors well after treatment has ended. Patients can sometimes face physical, psychosocial and informational needs many years later, after their initial health care team has moved on.

"Health care providers," she says, "are well-positioned to connect patients with the appropriate avenues of support for life after treatment."

Join the My Cancer Circle Community

Cancer affects family members, friends and others who are
close to a person coping with a cancer diagnosis. It can be especially difficult and overwhelming for the primary caregiver, who is often tasked with coordinating help from multiple people. 

To help caregivers, CancerCare offers My Cancer Circle, a free online tool that allows caregivers to create a private, secure community that brings together their network of support.

 
 
A Successful Lung Cancer Walk for Hope
 
T he 17th Annual Lung Cancer Walk for Hope was a great success! Held on November 3 at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury, Long Island, more than 400 walkers and volunteers e njoyed the beautiful foliage while supporting Cancer Care's free, professional supportive services. It's not too late to give your support to those affected by a lung cancer diagnosis.
