STELAR Bill Passes House Judiciary Committee
Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Ranking Member Doug Collins (R-GA) and Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) reached a compromise Wednesday evening on Lofgren's amendment relating to the required time frame within which AT&T must serve all 210 markets with local-into-local (180 days) in order to use the bill's narrowed/permanent distant signal license for RVs/trucks and short markets on an ongoing basis.

Flint Gospel Radio Personality Sam Williams Passes Away at 93
WDZZ-FM (Flint) air personality Sam Williams, host of the popular "Sunday Morning Gospel," has passed away at age 93. He hosted the program for 40 years and helped launch the radio station in 1979 as Flint's first black-owned FM radio station.

NBC News will Zero in on Kent County for 2020 Election
Michigan, specifically Kent County, will become the focus of national attention as the 2020 presidential election unfolds. NBC News political director Chuck Todd announced Sunday that Kent County will be one of five counties across the country that will get intense scrutiny as part of the network's coverage.

WHTC's 'Talk of the Town' Celebrates 60 Years
Sixty years ago, Bill Gargano turned on WHTC's microphone and started talking, inviting listeners to call the station.

MSU's WDBM-FM Celebrates 30 Years
The student radio station at Michigan State University, WDBM-FM ("The Impact") is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year! The station signed on November 10, 1989. WDBM was successor to the Michigan State Network, which in the 1970s was the nation's largest college carrier current radio network, and had studios in several MSU dormitories.

MABF Employer Partnership Program with CMU approved for 2020!
The MAB Foundation Board of Directors approved a new partnership with Central Michigan University's School of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts for the Fall 2020 semester.
The partnership will focus on developing mentoring relationships between students with an Electronic Media Sales Minor and industry professionals.
