Stewardship Scripture Reflection
The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ
King of the Universe

“….giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light.”
(Colossians 1:12)

God wants us to be happy! Instead of looking at the Ten Commandments as being restrictive and telling us what we can’t do, look at them as guides for living a joy-filled and peaceful life. Most of our problems arise when we put our own needs first or spend most of our time trying to acquire “things.” Instead, try putting God first in all things. Ask Him how He wants you to use your gifts.

Eagles vs Unborn babies

Bald eagle eggs have more protection under U.S. law than unborn babies. It is illegal to destroy a bald eagle egg and the maximum fine is $250, 000. Meanwhile 1 million unborn human babies are aborted annually in the U.S., and in some states up to the time of birth, with no protection under the law.

The Christmas Giving Tree

Please stop by the narthex to see our COKAS Christmas Giving Tree decorated with ornaments identifying children, adults and seniors in our community who need remembrance or assistance over the upcoming Christmas holidays. Ornaments on the tree include those identified by our COKAS ministries (St. Vincent de Paul, Martha’s Closet, KOC), and by local nursing homes and Boys and Girls Clubs in our multi-county parish area.

If you can help during this season of giving, please remove one or more ornaments. This year family ornaments are grouped if you wish to help an entire family. Gifts need to be returned no later than Sunday December 15th. All the information you need is listed on the front and the back of the ornament.
You may also contribute gift cards or cash if you wish the Christmas Giving Tree team to shop for you. Please return your ornament by December 6th if you would like someone to shop for you.

Thank you for your generosity.
