Adoption Saves Lives!

Adoption Saves Lives!
Judaism emphasizes the sanctity of human life from conception to  natural death, making it incumbent upon Jews  to find life saving  ways to address unplanned and unwanted pregnancy.
Adoption saves innocent lives, builds families and communities, and s aves a vulnerable mother and father from the many unintended negative consequences of abortion. November is Adoption Aware n ess Month, so we want to highlight our Jewish friendly adoption referral resources.

Over the past several years, we've been contacted by Jewish couples looking to adopt, so we now have a waiting list available. Parents who choose to save their baby by choosing a loving home can work directly with one of these couples, or through two Jewish adoption agencies, Embrace a Jewish Child or the Jewish Children's Adoption Network. In Shifra's Arms, a Jewish pregnancy care organization in the US, also helps with adoption. Learn more at  https://jewishprolifefoundation.org/pregnant%3F

Adoption is a great choice when pregnancy causes shame or embarrassment, inconvenience or hardship. Especially if a vulnerable woman is pressured by the birth father to terminate or abandoned by her family, she can find shelter and sanctuary through pregnancy care and adoption support services.

Many Jewish couples consider it a mitzvah to adopt imperfect babies. They know that these babies are perfect in HaShem's eyes and bring joy into a blessed home. If the prospect of giving birth to an imperfect infant such as a Down Syndrome or other special needs child presents overwhelming challenges, be assured that Hashem has a special home in mind!

Dr. Edward Hoffman, Ph.D. from Yeshiva University donated this article "In Celebration of People with Down Syndrome" to our online library. Read the pdf here .

Here's a delightful short v ideo of an adopted baby with Down Syndrome. Absolutely Adorable!
