With winter storms upon us, staff would like to remind all slip renters to check their vessel and ensure it is prepared for inclement weather. During last week's rain event, several vessels sank, and Harbor Patrol performed numerous pump-outs to prevent other vessels from sinking.
More rain is forecast to impact our area in the coming week. As a reminder, please ensure that your vessel is ready for the winter weather by:
- Checking automatic bilge pumps and battery condition
- Ensuring that scuppers and drains are free of debris
- Ensuring that dock lines and fenders are secure and in good condition
- Removing heavy items/equipment from vessels
- Making a plan to frequently check your vessel during rain events
