New England Board of Higher Education to Recognize Electric Boat, Westerly Education Center for Excellence in Talent Development

What: 2018 Excellence Award presentation to Electric Boat and Westerly Education Center with brief speaking program
 
When: Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Rhode Island State House, R.I. House Lounge

Details: The NEBHE Excellence Award honors the best in higher education efforts throughout New England. Past recipients include U.S. Sen. George Mitchell of Maine, U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, noted oceanographer Robert D. Ballard, and Dartmouth College President Emeritus James Wright. Since 2017, Westerly Education Center has trained 800 men and women, some with no prior manufacturing experience, for new successful careers in maritime manufacturing skills at Electric Boat.
