May 18th, 2018

We're beginning a new series this weekend! For many, the Holy Spirit is mysterious and hard to explain, let alone understand within the context of our lives and relationships with Jesus. This series is intended to help break down those barriers, provide context for our lives as Christ followers and facilitate the full invasion of the living presence of God in our lives so that we, through the Holy Spirit, might move forward to envelop this earth with the good news of Jesus. Join us for Week 1 of Holy Spirit; we'll be focusing on how a relationship with the Holy Spirit begins.

Dr. Bill Bouknight will be teaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services; Pastor Nick Cunningham will be teaching in the Auditorium for the Contemporary Worship services. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Mission Opportunity

Next Step Needs
From June 3 until August 4, Mt. Horeb will host teams of students from all across the country who will come here, stay in our church building and go out each day to serve in under-resourced communities in Lexington. The Next Step summer staff who will lead them will arrive on May 27th to begin preparing for what we pray will be an impactful summer for all involved. There are several opportunities each summer for us as a church to come along Next Step. We need a couple more people to adopt a Next Step staff member for the summer. This is an easy and great way to show how much we appreciate them and all that they are doing in our community. To learn more about this great opportunity or how to get involved with Next Step, please contact Brittany at [email protected]

Opportunities to Serve

Looking to get plugged in... We have a great opportunity for you in our café. We are in need of some friendly folks to serve on a once a month rotation in our café on Sunday morning. This is a great place to meet and connect with the congregation as they get their goodies for the morning. If you are interested in helping out once a month contact Kay Warzecha at 409-9176 or contact the church office.

Our Bread of Life Team provides a loaf of homemade bread to all first-time guests as a way of welcoming them to our faith community. If the gift is not picked up at Guest Services after the service, the team delivers it with a welcome bag to the guest's home. We would love several more people that can take the bread to the homes and provide a warm welcome to those who are seeking a church family. Contact Nate Gibson at 490-0200 if you are interested in getting involved with this ministry.
