This Week at Christ Church
Pentecost, aka Whitsunday (which is just a fancy Anglican word for Pentecost)

Please join us in the Undercroft tomorrow following the 10 a.m. service for a reception for Pentecost, the Church's Birthday. Help us celebrate and make this occasion festive and delicious by bringing a favorite sweet or savory dish to share. Food can be dropped off in the kitchen before the service. If you're able to help with set up and/or cleanup or have questions, please contact Jane Aylor  ( [email protected]) or Sarah Leung ( [email protected]). For the month of May, we will be collecting the items that go into Comfort Cases for children entering the Montgomery County Foster Care System. Please find the shopping list on the Outreach table in the vestibule. Donated items can be left in the baskets in the vestibule. Special thank you to Charlie Briggs, who will be keeping an inventory of what we have collected.

Youth Group: Bagels and Bible Middle and high school youth are welcome to gather in the loft after church for a weekly discussion of the Bible with snacks! More info: [email protected].

The church office will be closed
on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day. 

Rob Scheer, the founder of Comfort Cases, will preach at our 10 AM service on Sunday, June 3 rd with a "packing party" to follow in the undercroft. We encourage all parishioners, including children and adults to help us fill the Comfort Cases duffel bags. We will need a lot of assistance at the packing party, so please come and lend a hand!
 
Vacation Bible School Returns!
This is our second year of celebrating God's Glorious Garden and our theme is light.
When: Monday, July 9 - Friday July 13
Times: 9 AM to 12 Noon, with option to bring a brown bag lunch and stay until 1 PM;
extended day until 4 PM. (Email Ann Enkiri to arrange for childcare until 5 PM.)

June 10th: Please join us on the lawn (weather permitting) after the 10 am service. We will celebrate the end of school and the beginning of summer with an ice cream social - all parish children and youth welcome! This event also serves to honor our Sunday School/Youth Group participants, and thank our adult volunteers. Don't miss it!
Transition New s Madison Chase is filling in as Parish Administrator full time until early June taking on many of the Parish Administrator responsibilities in addition to her role as Youth Minister. You can reach her for admin business at [email protected].
