Compounders on Capitol Hill News!                                            May 21,2018
The following states will be represented at this year's 24th Annual
Compounders on Capitol Hill  by your fellow IACP Members.

MAKE SURE YOUR HOME TURF IS ON THE LIST!!!

We need 300+ pharmacists at #CCH2018. H.R. 2871 is gaining momentum and support, but we need more Representatives to back the bill and Senators to sponsor a companion bill. It will take all of us to make this happen. Our POWER comes from our face-to-face visits - where members of Congress see and hear directly from constituents in their own districts about how
H.R. 2871 will impact their communities. No one can tell a pharmacy's story - and patients' stories - like YOU. So, the more CCH attendees we have, the more districts we represent and the more legislators we can reach.
Simply put:  WE NEED PHARMACISTS ON THE HILL!

A fter attending CCH in the past and PCCA's ACT event for the past 6 years, this is the FIRST year that 4 out of the 5 offices we visited already knew about our bill and were in support of it.  This is our year to fix DQSA, and we need to strike while the iron is hot. Please consider taking action and explain to your Congressmen why this is important to you, your physicians, your patients, and healthcare in general.

A CCH attendee doesn't have to be a pharmacist or the owner! It can be any staff person that communicates well and can tell your story.
Would you spend one day on the Hill with us if we told you your voice makes a huge difference?

We understand it is hard to be out of the pharmacy, but would you be willing to spend one day with us on Capitol Hill sharing your personal stories and your patients' stories?  Face-to-face visits are so powerful and no one can tell your story like YOU.  You are far more influential than you realize.  Your visits to Congress are invaluable and we can't do it without you.

Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH) brings together the top-level compounding pharmacists and technicians from across the country with the same goal - to preserve patient access to vital compounded medications. Network and Reconnect with old friends and meet new colleagues who share your passion and interest in preserving patient access to compounded medications.

The 24th Annual Compounders on Capitol Hill will be held June 23-26, 2018 at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel. With more than 300 expected attendees in 2018.

Storm the Hill
Storm the Hill with Your Colleagues in Washington, DC and Share Your Patients' Voices with Capitol Hill to Preserve Patient Access to Compounded Medications!

IACP's Governmental Affairs team, working closely with 30+ organizations comprising the DQSA Coalition, has made tremendous progress in the past year towards policy changes at the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in order to preserve patient access to compounded medications.

Changes include:
  • The introduction of bipartisan legislation
  • Testifying at a Congressional hearing on patient access concerns resulting from FDA's implementation of the DQSA
  • Obtaining Congressional letters instructing FDA on how the Agency continues to prohibit patient access to vital compounded medications by not implementing the DQSA as Congress intended
  • Obtaining language within Congressional funding legislation
  • Hosting a Congressional staff briefing with physicians and pharmacists that shared their patient stories and access concerns
We need hundreds of compounding pharmacists on  Capitol Hill, June 25, 2018  to educate Members of Congress about FDA's overreach and to rally our congressional champions to protect patient access to compounded medications and your ability to practice pharmacy.
Be Prepared to Storm the Hill with IACP
