Join us at an elegant reception to celebrate the winners of the 2018 Canada Prizes. The

features an awards ceremony followed by an armchair conversation with the winners, moderated by Pierre Anctil, and will take place on Tuesday, May 29 5:00-6:30 pm during Congress at the University of Regina. Refreshments will be served.

Western University has been selected to host the 2020
Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences

ACCUTE's celebrates Regina writers
On May 26 during Congress 2018, the Association of Canadian College and University Teachers of English (ACCUTE) is convening a panel of three highly acclaimed Regina writers for a reading and conversation about their work. The panel will pay tribute to the rich literary culture of this year's Congress host city, Regina. Find more information

SFU meets with government
Simon Fraser University (SFU) President Andrew Petter
travelled to Ottawa to promote SFU
's research interests, advance its innovation strategy, and strengthen its relationships with government. SFU is positioning itself to gain further research strength from the 2018 federal budget's commitment of $925 million in new research funding over the next five years.

Call for research on security
HSS scholars are invited to submit their ideas for innovative new research through a new Department of National Defence program: Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security. Proposals are welcome on a range of issues, including post-traumatic stress and enhancing diversity. More information
