Somehow, during all of the trouble, the staff painted the clinic!
,

Let us not become weary in doing good,    for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Galatians 6:9 [NIV]

Last month, we had to report the sad news that the clinic was forced to close temporarily due to the danger to staff during this time of political unrest in Haiti. We have some good news in this report. There have been several days in a row of relative calm in Cap-Haitien. This allowed our clinic staff to return to the clinic last week to take stock and prepare to open again. Today, December 2, the clinic is open again to patients! We are grateful that the staff continues to persevere during hard times.

Last month I mentioned that our pharmacy was completely depleted due to supply disruption, and that we were asking for help with funding to resupply it with medications. A pharmacist in the Atlanta area bought us some antibiotics and other helpful medications, and a local church bought us a generous supply of over-the-counter medications and supplies. This is a great help, and it's on the way to Haiti now.

We set a goal to raise $3,500 to purchase prescription medications from a partner charity that offers steeply discounted medications to clinics like ours. As of this writing, we have raised $1,070. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this effort to restock the clinic so far! If you haven't given yet and would like to help us, here's a link to our giving page:   https://haiticheri.givingfuel.com/giving . You can also give by check to the address at the bottom of this email.

The underlying issues that are causing unrest and violence in Haiti have not been resolved. Perhaps even the troublemakers are getting fatigued, and we appreciate every window of calm. As always, we are grateful to all of you who are standing by us during these challenging times. Please pray for peace in Haiti!
