Dear Parents,

Happy Holidays!  The Parent Education Series   has great events coming up this winter, so we look forward to seeing you in the New Year 2020.

Our first Mini-Series event features Adina Glickman , MSW, founder of the Stanford Resilience Project, in Raising a Resilient Learner  (January 16,  Sequoia Union High School District Office ).

On January 30, we welcome Dr. Bill Stixrud and Ned Johnson , co-authors of the award-winning book, The Self-Driven Child: The Science and Sense of Giving Your Kids More Control Over Their Lives (January 30, M-A PAC ).

According to Stixrud and Johnson, a sense of control is the 'antidote to stress' for American kids impacted by social media, demanding homework, and lack of sleep.

In February, we are proud to host Joel Baum , Senior Director of Professional Development at Gender Spectrum , in Creating Gender Inclusive Environments for Children and Teens (February 27, Woodside MUR ).

Just added! Join us for a special event in partnership with Kepler's Literary Foundation , Dr. Madeline Levine , Ready or Not: Preparing Our Kids to Thrive in an Uncertain and Rapidly Changing World (February 28, M-A PAC ).

NEW videos are posted to our YouTube and Vimeo channels! Watch Charlie Appelstein in No Such Thing as a Bad Kid and Richard Ceballos, Stanford Tobacco Prevention Toolkit, in What's All the Buzz with JUUL & Similar Vape Devices?

And follow us on social media – Instagram and Facebook – for the latest in parenting news, research, and events.

Wishing you a warm, happy, and relaxing Winter Break!

Why You Should Teach Your Kids to Cook
It’s been said that good cooking is an art form. The truth is, it’s much more than that. It’s a way to teach kids vital 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. It invites kids to make connections to the broader world by asking, “Where does our food come from?”

Parenting Quotes
"Teach your kid to make their own way. To follow their interests, make their own path. I wrote my first Broadway musical, In the Heights, because I wanted a future in theater and I didn't see a place for myself. So I wrote one."
