Service and Spirit
Lead by the tireless efforts and the rapping talents of Ms. Barile, students once again put forth the Trinity mission of developing Servant Leaders and held the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to help others who are less fortunate throughout the Cleveland area. The students brought in non-perishable food items over a two week stretch with something on the line...Spirit Cup Points! The number of food items and money raised would be converted to points toward the Spirit Cup. The Spirit Cup is a year long competition that gives students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. Each class competes for points in a variety of spirit and service competitions that help improve the school community and the community around us. The grade with the most points at the end of the year win a trip to Cedar Point.

In this Season of Giving, the students brought in over 1,700 total items, with the Class of 2020 accumulating over 750 food donations! The donations were packed and delivered to the Holy Spirit Hunger Center. Students and staff also raised enough money to buy 100 turkeys for Thanksgiving Day meals.

The entire school community took great pride in the food drive, and had a great deal of fun while doing good for others. The Senior Class now leads the Spirit Cup Standings through the first 3 months of the year with 1,667 points, followed closely by the Freshmen, with many more opportunities still to come to capture the Spirit Cup!

Special Week Honoring our Juniors
Early in November, the THS community celebrated our Class of 2021 for an entire week. Junior Week began with a very powerful 30 hours on Junior Retreat at Camp Christopher. The 2 days featured emotional witnesses from seniors, a day in Franciscan prayer and fellowship out in nature, a wonderful Fireside Chat discussing their experiences, the always popular 'Prayer and Praise', and mass presided over by Fr. Haren from St. Monica's. The retreat concluded with each group leader praying over every Junior with an inspirational message while placing a beautiful medallion around their neck with Isaiah 43:1
“I have called you by name. You are mine.”

The week ended with the moving Junior Leadership Prayer Service and Ceremony . The Class of 2021 was Commissioned, their Leadership Symbols were blessed and presented, and they took the next step as the eventual senior leaders of THS.

Mr. Svoboda, Assistant Principal and Director of Religious Formation, summed up the week perfectly. “The Holy Spirit can do great wonders if we all continue to open our hearts each day.”
