Next NSENG Meeting is Mon Dec 9th
6:15-8:30pm, Glenview Library (1930 Glenview Rd)
Keynote speaker on "Navigating a Job Change in Today's Dynamic Marketplace" plus a round of networking
When you are over 45 and find yourself in a job search, you're often going to be confronted with multi-generational challenges. Some of them may include:
  • The person conducting the phone screen may be very young and doesn't really understand the job description or the value you can bring to the company.
  • You may be competing for a job with someone who is 15-20 years younger than you.
  • You may need to convince a company that your age and years of experience is not a handicap but rather an important asset.
  • You may need to convince a potential employer that you will be able to lead a team of 20 and 30-year old employees.

During this meeting, leadership and communications coach, Jeffrey Parsons, will present on the following topics:
  • How to use Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to deliver a very positive impact on your job search.
  • How to engage today's younger workforce when they may be the interviewer or your future boss.
  • How to integrate new tools and resources to effective increase your effectiveness in today's job search.
  • How to find valuable information and data on companies to increase your knowledge about their business strategy and how you may fit it.
  • How "liking", and "tagging" on social media can help promote your skills and brand.
  • How to respond to key traits and characteristics of today's multi-generational workforce.
