Certification for Mandated Reporting (Christy Wright)
Congratulations to Christy Wright, who recently completed her certification to be a Certified Trainer for Mandated Reporting. “With this trainer certification, I plan to help enhance our staff’s knowledge of how to recognize signs of abuse/neglect, importance of reporting, and how to report as they have frontline interaction with our youth at their respective facilities daily,” Christy Wright said.

At the beginning of this month Christy took a train-the-trainer class through the University of South Carolina Law School/Children’s Law Center for Mandated Reporting: Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect.

In the Training of Trainer’s course, participants learn South Carolina’s State Laws as it pertains to recognizing and reporting abuse and neglect while gaining understanding of the legal duty associated with it. Each participant was required to pass a written examination and successfully complete an oral presentation on the South Carolina Laws to Children’s Center Law staff for the University of South Carolina to receive certification.

On October 9, 2019 Christy received her certification as a Certified Trainer for Mandated Reporting for the state of South Carolina. “We are very proud of our TEAM member Christy Wright, as she continues to strive in excellence in the quality of her professional work, we are truly thankful to have her on our TEAM,” Director of Parks and Recreation Randy Davis said.
