The Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children (CLOCC), in partnership with the Chicago Park District, are excited to announce the availability of a new CampWell Program Facilitator position within the Park District's Wellness Unit. This position will assist with the creation, delivery, and evaluation of the CampWell program, an initiative of Chicago Activating Neighborhood Environments for Health and Wellness (Chicago ANEHW), funded by Kohl's Cares ®

Chicago ANEHW focuses on engaging youth, families and communities in physical activity, nutrition, and overall healthy lifestyle education and promotion.  This is a citywide position, focusing on three Chicago neighborhoods.

CampWell Program Facilitator
  • The CampWell Program Facilitator monitors strategies to make sure that all aspects of the program are implemented as planned. 
  • Assists in identifying and recruiting in parks to participate in Chicago ANEHW
  • Develops a six-week CampWell curriculum and works with permanent park staff and summer recreation leaders on successful implementation
  • Facilitates workshops and in-service training seminars
  • Consults with individuals, park personnel, and health, wellness and fitness related community groups to determine interests and needs 
  • Assists in marketing efforts to promote program participation 
  • Works with external partners to leverage and deploy Park District resources
  • Communicates constructively with participants, parents, volunteers and community 
  • Assists with planning and the implementation of wellness events, including but limited to, health fairs, community awareness, and fitness festivals 
  • Provides technical assistance to local parks as assigned
  • Travel to multiple park locations within a specified region will be required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field supplemented by three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Preferred work experience with nutrition education for youth
  • Nutrition expertise preferred such as Registered Dietitian, MPH with a Nutrition Focus, MS in Food Science, Health Educator etc
  • Must possess current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or be able to acquire and present active certifications as a condition of employment within 6 months of employment and maintain them as a condition of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Knowledge of Health, Wellness and Fitness theories, principals, trends and best practices
  • Skill in developing, implementing, leading and evaluating wellness programming
  • Effective oral and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to commute daily to multiple park locations, citywide
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and website navigation

Salary:

  • Rate of pay: $66,000/ annually 
  • Professional Service Agreement
