Outside, the final storm water system has been placed underground.

Mary Lawrence - The Bianca Goddard Mystery Series and Tudor London
Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30 pm
Lunt Auditorium at OceanView at Falmouth
Join us as we welcome Mary Lawrence, author of the historical Bianca Goddard mysteries. The Bianca Goddard mysteries are a historical series set in the slums of London during the final days of Henry VIII's reign. Lawrence will discuss her series and share a presentation of Tudor London and the history of the time.

Lawrence grew up in Southern Indiana and attended Butler University. She earned a specialty degree in Cytotechnology from Indiana University then moved to Maine shortly thereafter. About twenty years ago Lawrence stumbled upon a book about alchemy and came up with the idea for a daughter of an alchemist who lived during the reign of Henry VIII. Thus, the Bianca Goddard Mysteries were born. Copies of her latest books in the series will be available for purchase and signing. This event is free and open to the public.

Caps for Sale... Caps for Sale...
Larisa Norman has been an active member of the Library's A Common Yarn knitting group for many years. She continues to join them every Thursday. Two years ago, she introduced the idea of a fundraiser for the Library based on the popular children's story "Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina.

Once again, A Common Yarn invites all knitters and crocheters to create a “cap” for our peddler’s tree. In November and December we will be collecting hand-made hats and sell them for $15.00 each (or 2 for $25). For more information, contact Larisa at lnorman@falmouthmemoriallibrary.org or call 781-2351.
Knit Falmouth: Spreading Warmth in our Community
Our Community needs YOUR knitted goods!

In past years our patrons' amazing efforts have supplied the Falmouth Food Pantry with hundreds of hats, scarves, cowls, mittens, blankets and socks.

This year, more than ever, the need is great. So pick up your needless and start knitting (or chrocheting) more warmth into our community! Beginning in November, there will be "grab and go" kits available at the library for knitters to take if they would like. Each kit will contain donated yarn and a possible pattern to go with it. Grab a kit, knit the item at home and return the completed item to the Library. Participants are welcome to use their own yarn and patterns. Yarn donations are needed to help Knit Falmouth be successful, so if you have any yarn you would like to donate, please bring it to the Library.
If you have any questions about this project, please contact Virginia at vkiesewetter@falmouthmemoriallibrary.org or at 781-2351.
