Holiday Schedule
In years past, we have been open on the Sundays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. With crunched time and busy schedules, we provided a few extra hours to shop for both holiday decor and gifts. However, we have decided NOT to open on any Sundays this year.

Honestly, we are swamped and working very hard with our in-home decorating service and with creating in-store custom designs. This makes us very happy, but also makes us very tired and in need of those extra days off.

As always, we have a policy of opening on a Sunday afternoon for anyone who would like to make an appointment ahead of time. We do understand that, for some people, that is the only day time they have and we will do our best to accommodate these special needs.

Please note our holiday schedule:
Thanksgiving Day November 28 CLOSED
Christmas Eve December 24 CLOSE AT 2 PM
Christmas Day December 25 CLOSED
New Year's Eve December 31 CLOSED
New Year's Day January 1 CLOSED

Don't miss our after Christmas Sale starting at 10 AM on December 26th!
Holiday Merchandise will be sale priced at 50% off.

If you are not receiving news of holiday events from us, other than the information in this newsletter, you are missing many of our holiday sales and specials. Call or email us to let us know that you would like to be included on our Holiday Customer List. Please make sure to include your name and email.
Styling a Serving Cart
No hostess in the early to mid 20th Century would have been without a cart from which to serve social beverages. Often referred to as a tea cart (before cocktail hour), a bar cart (cocktail hour and beyond), or, more generally, as a serving, or even beverage, cart, this little table on wheels allowed the hostess to provide an area for guests to serve themselves.

Let's Go Christmas Tree Shopping!

A fun family (or couple) adventure for the holidays is to select and cut your own tree at a tree farm. There are several tree farms within easy driving distance of Columbia, most of which serve hot chocolate or other beverages and perhaps even a hayride as an extra enticement.

The scent of a freshly cut tree is heavenly and the trees last so much longer than the pre-cut store bought selection which have been cut and transported who knows how long before your purchase. If you haven't visited a tree farm, make this the year you check it off your must-at-least-once-in-a-lifetime to-do list.

Bourbon Rotisserie Pork Roast

You had me at bourbon.
Seriously, bourbon flavored whipped cream, cookies, cake, and, of course, liquid bourbon in a glass...anything...and I'm in.

So, it's no surprise that this recipe caught my eye. I love serving pork tenderloin because, as with chicken, there's such a variety of flavors that enhance it. Sweet or sour, spicy or mild, gravy or sauce, it's all good!

Since the holidays are a time for entertaining, which includes copious amounts of eating, grilling is a convenient method of cooking which frees up the oven for all of those cookies, cakes, and sides that we must have or our families will never forgive us.
