Local environmental news and happenings for DuPage County.
December 2019
Young minds need books and art supplies to spark imagination and deepen creativity, but sadly, countless learning materials end up in the trash every year. We aim to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed by keeping valuable supplies out of the landfill and getting them to where they belong: in the hands of children. Help literacy, creativity, and our planet thrive - make a tax-deductible donation today!
The 6th annual Pumpkin Smash on November 2nd featured 51 locations across the country helping communities to green their Halloween. Check out more fun photos and our environmental benefit.
York High School volunteers at the Pumpkin Smash in Elmhurst, IL.
Tons of thanks go out to all the organizations that made the Pumpkin Smash a success in their communities! Plus the communities expand access to cooking oil recycling and food scrap composting.

DuPage County recently expanded their list of items accepted at electronic recycling sites. In addition to electronics, a select number of locations will also be accepting used clothing and textiles for recycling. The locations currently accepting textiles include Burr Ridge, Bloomingdale Township, and the City of Wheaton.
We will be collecting coats for donation to local shelters as well as matching sets of mittens/gloves, and winter hats and ear muffs. Items must be clean and in like-new to gently-used condition. Drop-off during out business hours only.
This informative seminar sponsored by PowerForward DuPage and Cool DuPage will provide commercial property owners and developers with an overview of the recently approved C-PACE funding program in DuPage County - how it works and why it is a tremendous financing tool. More info here.
