This Week in Westville is your go-to source for news, events, activities and goings-on in the Westville community. Like NPR and other user-supported media, much of our operations rely on the support of our "local listeners" - you, the reader. In order for the Westville Village Renaissance Alliance to continue providing this valuable community service, we ask you to donate or join WVRA as a Village Person today! Beyond the e-news, WVRA is working every day to make Westville a brighter, safer, more vibrant place to be. To learn more about our Main Street program initiatives, from community and cultural activities, economic revitalization, traffic-calming, historic preservation, and other quality of life efforts, click HERE.

NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
November 19, 2019, The Daily Nutmeg, by David Zukowski- "In a corner room on the second floor of his house, Ed Gendron was getting ready for a busy November, his attention divided between current filmmaking projects and a finished one. Playing Soldier, his documentary about World War II reenactors, would soon be shown at the Yonkers Film Festival, its first public screening outside of New Haven. Meanwhile, prints from Reenactor Moment, the photo series that began his immersion in the world of battle reenactment, were about to be shown at Yale West Campus for City-Wide Open Studios Alternative Space Weekend. RESTORATIVE YOGA WITH SASKIA BERGAMANS SMITH @THE WELL
Our monthly restorative yoga workshop is a gem! Saskia with guide you through supported yoga postures to ensure you are in the optimal comfortable position in order to support your journey into reconnecting with your parasympathetic nervous system.
With the hectic nature of life, we often forget how it is to be fully rested and rejuvenated. When the body is in a constant state of stress, one's interaction with the world is impeded. We are not able to optimally interact and participate with the world at large and the inner workings of the body is compromised too. One of the examples is that the body does not benefit from nutrition, because the digestion and elimination systems are slowed down. Even sleep is affected by this agitated state.
We invite you to begin the journey to doing less and discover the richness within the art of this practice!
