Have You Heard?

The MBI Job Board has, once again, been improved! With the enhancements to our job board and BuildIowa.org, there has never been a better time to post your available positions. The best part is - it's free!

The enhancements to the job board include a radius search function, and a new way of displaying the job opportunities, which are now listed by company. Both of these changes will make it easier than ever for prospective job seekers to find the opportunities you are offering. In addition, BuildIowa.org has been updated with a training section, and every occupation highlighted in the Career Center has a link back to the job board to find available opportunities.

If you haven't posted your available opportunities yet, simply visit MBI.ourcareerpages.com, click on 'Employer Registration', and submit the form.

Should you have any questions about the process, please don't hesitate to contact Micah Loveless at MLoveless@mbionline.com or 515.657.4398.

It's Safety Week!
United Fire Group Safety Dividend Program
Nomination Deadline for the 14th MB EYE on the Future class is May 26th
The Mission of Safety Week is to collectively raise the awareness of the construction industry's continuing commitment to eliminating worker injury, and to clearly communicate its dedication to a shared culture of care and concern and the belief that every week must be Safety Week. Every year, Safety Week works to engage companies across the U.S. to refocus and reenergize our commitment to reducing injuries on job sites. We walk on to different work sites with different jobs, trades and tasks. But one thread connects all of us - not just to each other, but to everyone who depends on us at home - safety.

It is not too late to celebrate Safety Week at your company! Visit the
Safety Week Website to download logos, email signatures, templates and theme descriptions to use in your newsletters/websites/social media accounts.

MBI will be celebrating Safety Week on our social media accounts all week long. Be sure to follow us by clicking the links below!

In order to be considered for the United Fire Group (UFG) insurance program, a company must be a member of MBI. Since you are reading this article, your first step in the process of joining the UFG insurance program is complete!

To learn more and to sign up for the UFG insurance program, it is as simple as contacting your agent. Your account will then be underwritten on its own merit with specific qualification guidelines. This allows UFG to protect the integrity of the safety group dividend, which can yield better results for contractors.

UFG has written and issued over 114 policies to MBI members, with over $6,200,000 written premiums in the program since it began late 2014. For more information on the program, contact your agent to discuss your options.
MB EYE on the Future is an important initiative for sustaining leadership in the association and in the construction industry in Iowa. This leadership program combines essential educational programs each month, as well as networking with past, present and future leaders across the state of Iowa. Over 200 graduates throughout the last thirteen years have sparked a new level of member participation in the organization.

Companies can nominate more than one individual from a company, but bear in mind that the selection committee will attempt to make the class as diverse as possible from the field of nominees. Once a nomination form is received, an application form will be sent to the nominee.

The class will meet once a month for six months, beginning in September - dates and locations are listed below. Sessions will begin on Thursday and conclude on Friday. The cost to participate is $900, which will include meals. Participants are responsible for travel and lodging expenses.
