Maddie's Fund® is a family foundation created in 1994 by Workday® co-founder Dave Duffield and his wife, Cheryl, who have endowed the Foundation with more than $300 million.
The Duffields named Maddie's Fund after their Miniature Schnauzer Maddie, who always made them laugh and gave them much joy.
Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $187.8 million in grants toward increased community lifesaving, shelter medicine education, and pet adoptions across the U.S.
Maddie's Fund is the fulfillment of a promise to an inspirational dog, investing its resources to create a no-kill nation where every dog and cat is guaranteed a healthy home or habitat.

Wine, Whiskers & Wags Event
What:
Wine, Whiskers & Wags is PetConnect Rescue's signature fall fundraising event. Enjoy tasting fine wines and interacting with our adoptable dogs, who will be on hand to greet the guests. A silent auction, entertainment and our specialty drinks will round out an evening devoted to ensuring that our rescued pets are safe and secure.
Venue:
Old Angler's Inn, built in 1860 to serve those traveling to and from the nation's capital via the C & O Canal, is the perfect setting for our early autumn event.
The glittering lights on the back patio and the delicious food are just two of the reasons PetConnect Rescue will hold its annual fundraiser here.
The most important reason though is that some of our adoptable dogs will be able to join us that night as we raise our glasses to the cause.
Mark your calendars!

Would You Be Willing To Donate An Auction Item?
Our Auction Item Committee is growing, but we can always use more help. We are in search of high-end items that can either be auctioned on their own or be paired with others to create an amazing package. If you can secure even one item to contribute, that would be a huge help to us. Proceeds from the evening will benefit our animals. Below is a list of suggested items, but we welcome any ideas and suggestions:
- Designer Jewelry and Handbags
- Tickets to Sporting Events
- Vacation Homes or Exciting Experiences
- Curved Screen TV (for our raffle prize)
- Gift Cards to Restaurants & Spas
For questions, please email Catherine at [email protected].
