What's up?
Tuesday is JIBBOOM Club #1 -- with guest Kevin Farrar , top.
Where is this 1854 scene?
Four classes of NL third graders tried to figure it out at the Lyman Allyn this week. The Lyman Allyn is a terrific addition to our Local History & Landmarks program. (The scene is the corner of Bank & State.)

At last Sunday's 36th Annual Meeting of the New London Maritime Society, retiring librarian Brian Rogers enumerated the riches of the Frank L. McGuire Library.

We've listed a few things, too.

It's the 258 th anniversary of the first lighting of NL Harbor Light
208 th anniversary of the current Harbor Lighthouse,
186 th anniversary of New London's US Custom House building,
140 th anniversary of Race Rock Lighthouse,
110 th anniversary of Ledge Lighthouse,
36 th anniversary of the New London Maritime Society, & the
21 th anniversary of the Frank McGuire Maritime Research Library

Casting Deep Shade.

NB: All works in the exhibition are for sale (including the book cover image).
Limited edition prints of original artworks can be ordered on Denny's website.

Two-hundred-fifty crocus sound like a lot, but not when you're covering a 90' swath. In a few years, these species bulbs should spread.

Our HOLIDAY PARTY will be Thursday, December 13, at 4 o'clock!

Patricio and Fernando were back on the roof Friday, with a new plan for stopping leaks. This summer, downpours and strong winds drove rain up beneath the roof platform (where they're sitting), down under the metal roof, and into the Amistad gallery. They're fixing that.

The roof leaks were primarily along the southeast side of the building. Water damage can be seen at the window and in the corner. Here's Bill on Friday doing his tour.
Above: NL HarborCam on Saturday at 6 AM.

Good to have representatives from our USCG LIS (Long Island Sound) ANT (Aid to Navigation Team) at our lighthouse conference.
Among other things, we learned that next summer, Race Rock will have its lens swapped out.
  • Keep watch on New London's waterfront 24/7 with our NL HarborCam. The HarborCam has had 11,400 views since last week.
