Message from the CEO
Optimism for opt-out: While the Budget was being scrutinised by health organisations at every angle last week, HISA was pleased to see a funding allocation of more than $370 million over the next two years to expand My Health Record by implementing national opt-out arrangements. By December 2018 there will be a health record for every Australian, unless they choose not to have one. HISA will be working with the Australian Digital Health Agency as a conduit to the digital health community and will continue to represent members’ views. We will be advocating for best practice in digital health by building clinical informatics capacity in the health workforce, embedding innovation into the DNA of every healthcare organisation and listening to both consumers and clinicians as technology continues to impact all health system users. We will keep members updated as we learn more.
