PlayCleanGo while you work!
Did you know the mud stuck in the tread of your shoes or vehicle tires can be full  of plant seeds? Some of those seeds may belong to invasive plants. Therefore, it is important to clean mud and plant parts off your clothes, shoes, tires, etc. no t just in the spring but every time you play or work .
 
The District became a PlayCleanGo partner in 2014 and has actively promoted this positive message to help protect Jackson Hole. Have you heard the message or seen it on a sign at your favorite trailhead? We hope so! We live here to play and enjoy the abundant recreational opportunities in the area. This also makes it our responsibly to take care of what we love so that future generations can enjoy the same opportunities. Landowner Permission

Do you own property in Teton County? Have you completed a permission form in the last two years? Please complete our landowner permission form so we can continue to provide service(s) on your property. 
Free Mosquito Services

TCWP provides both larval/adult mosquito surveillance and treatment for free on public and private lands within Teton County. We also monitor for, and track the presence/absence of West Nile Virus within specific species known to carry the disease. Learn more here!

Teton County Land Development Regulations (LDR) Updates
Invasive species thrive in disturbed areas using the disruption of the native species to ensure a foothold.  Over several years TCWP worked with the Teton County Planning Department to prevent one method of disturbance that leads to costly introduction of invasive species: construction projects.  As of January 1, 2017, all applications for grading permits require an invasive species management plan.  Requirements for the plans include:
  • Create an inventory of invasive species present on the property and begin managing species identified.
  • Clean all construction equipment before entering the site.
  • Leave areas infested with invasive species undisturbed as much as possible.
  • Routinely check and treat soil stockpiles.
  • Conduct revegetation immediately after construction is complete.
  • Use nursery and seed in accordance with Wyoming Nursery Stock Law and Wyoming Seed Law.
  • Conduct a post-construction inventory of the site and adjust the management plan accordingly.
By using these steps in even the smallest of home projects, landowners can reduce the likelihood of introducing new invasive species and save both time and money by reducing the need for long-term management.  Visit http://www.tcweed.org/resources/land-development/ for more information on LDR compliance.
