The Mysterious World of Drug Prices
One of the essential elements of most physicians' practices is the ability to prescribe well-tolerated, effective medications that patients can afford. When I started practice, most of the core medications I prescribed satisfied these criteria. Over the last two decades this has slowly changed. 2019 KMA Annual Meeting Celebrates Physician Leaders, Tackles Public Health Issues
Physicians from across the state convened in Louisville the weekend of Sept. 20-22 for the 2019 Kentucky Medical Association (KMA) Annual Meeting. The theme of this year's meeting, "Moving Medicine: Together for Tomorrow" celebrated and encouraged the unification of physicians around issues of importance, particularly public health advocacy.

LMS Opioid Symposium Shared Many Perspectives of the Opioid Crisis
More Kentuckians died, 1,565 in 2017, from drug overdose than traffic accidents and murders combined. Kentucky ranks 4 th in the nation in drug overdose deaths. Fayette County is one of four Kentucky counties with the largest increases in drug overdose deaths. Medical Student Emergency Relief Capital Campaign
Help those University of Kentucky medical students, who otherwise don't have a means of support, with life's unexpected financial emergencies. Please consider contributing $100 or $50 to this program to show our medical students we have their back.

The Lexington Medical Society Foundation is establishing a new program called "Medical Student Emergency Relief." The purpose of this program is to provide grants to University of Kentucky medical students, who otherwise don't have a means of support, that face unplanned, unbudgeted life emergencies.
