Local Author Visits The Academies

Cheryl Smith Spano and her furry companion, Wiggles, visited 1st/2nd grade classrooms at Blue Oak Academy and Sycamore Valley Academy this week to kick off their spring PBL unit.  Students are beginning a project in which they will be writing "small moment" stories, picking one to publish that will be shared at a school and at our county  author 's fair.  Cheryl shared how her personal experiences influence her narrative writing to help inspire the students who will be writing about their own lives in this project.
