The Cinema Arts Centre has been selected as a semi-finalist for the 2018 Long Island Imagine Awards!
The Long Island Imagine Awards will recognize not-for-profit organizations in five categories at a ceremony to be held on May 1st.

The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation Arts & Culture Award is one of the awards that will be presented at the 2018 Imagine Awards. This award will recognize an arts and/or cultural organization that has had a significant impact on Long Island. The Cinema Arts Centre has been selected as a semi-finalist for this award.
The Long Island Imagine Awards was created as a way to showcase the nonprofit sector and all the good work that it does, as well as provide opportunities for deeper collaboration within the sector. The event acts as an opportunity to meet new people, discover new organizations doing business on Long Island, develop new relationships, and learn from the organizations that are being honored.

The Cinema Arts Centre is thrilled to have been selected as a semi-finalist and congratulates all the great not-for-profit organizations that have also made it to this stage.

We are so close! Our campaign closes on January 31!
When the Cinema Arts Centre was founded in 1973, we had the name New Community Cinema. Although our name has changed, community remains at the heart of everything we do, and it is our community that fuels our mission, allowing us to bring the best in independent film artistry to Long Island, and use the power of film to broaden conversations and address a huge range of topics and issues.

In 2017, we presented 60 documentaries, screened 99 international films, welcomed 122 guest speakers, were home to 93 musical performances, and showed films from 55 countries!

Your support makes this all possible. So much goes into presenting daily film screenings in our three theaters and producing over 300 film and cultural events each year, and all of it costs money. Contributions from our members and patrons to the Vic Skolnick Life of the Cinema Campaign provide critical revenue. We are just $8,000 away from making our goal.

Our campaign closes on January 31. Please make your contribution today.

I f your contribution is already in the mail, thank you so much. You will receive a letter from us as soon as it is received.
