A Taste of Oakville

January 24 - February 7

Downtown Oakville and Bronte Village
When it snows, we'll be ready!
When snow begins to accumulate, the town's plows clear roads in priority based on road classification.

Primary and secondary roads are cleared first to ensure that you, and emergency vehicles like fire trucks and ambulances, can safely travel during or immediately after a snowfall.  When snow accumulation reaches 7.5 centimetres (3 inches), residential streets are cleared.

The town aims to have all roads cleared within 24 hours after the end of the storm, however heavy snowfalls or successive storms can sometimes extend this period.
You can stay up-to-date with snow clearing progress with our PlowOakville interactive map. Using GPS technology the map tracks the progress of our plows during a snow event.
Upcoming events and other information

Trafalgar Park public art

The town has selected artist Laura Marotta to create a permanent outdoor sculpture as part of the redevelopment of Oakville Arena and Trafalgar Park.  Octagon for Trafalgar Park will be installed at the north entrance of the new community centre at 133 Rebecca Street.

If not properly pruned, trees can touch or fall on power lines, causing outages or hazardous situations. That's why
the town and its tree service contractor are pruning trees on  behalf of Oakville Hydro.  Join us at our open house at Town Hall on Tuesday, January 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. for more information .
