At the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, you can travel the globe and encounter works created over more than 5,000 years ago. When you next visit, please be sure to see two new exhibitions. The first,
Assyria to America, brings together loans from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Harvard University, and the contemporary artist Michael Rakowitz to shed new light on the history and legacy of BCMA's ancient Assyrian reliefs. The second,
African/American: Two Centuries of Portraits, to open on November 7, was curated by Lauryn Dove '21 and draws new attention on a group of outstanding portraits from the Americas. As always, exciting public programs accompany these and other exhibitions.
See you at the Museum!
