From the MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE: Lost in the debate over the vast overhaul of the federal tax code, some Minnesotans' state taxes could rise sharply while others would fall depending how the Legislature responds this year. Minnesota is one of a few states that base state taxes on an income figure plucked from the federal filing called "federal taxable income." State Won't Say When DMV Problems Will be Fixed. Senator Suggests IT Overhaul.

From the ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS: When will the problems plaguing Minnesota's vehicle registration system be fixed? No one would say Thursday, amid repeated questioning from frustrated state lawmakers, one of whom suggested that the state's entire IT department be dismantled and those who worked on the system be purged from state employment. State officials said they're working on coming up with an answer.
