Garden Party
October 6th, 2019
On October 6th, UNA-GP held its 10th annual Garden Party. Despite the previous July date being postponed, the fundraiser welcomed a large group of enthusiastic attendants. Speakers Steve Harvey (Trial Lawyer at Steve Harvey Law LLC) and Yolanda Pagano (Senior Manager, Global Sustainability, Keystone Foods) spoke on the intersection between law and global warming, and the need for environmental justice. The two led passionate dialogue on the climate change crisis and ways to take action in Philadelphia and elsewhere.

Women's Rights
Despite women’s equality being a human rights issue, no country in the world is on track to achieving it. Progress has been stalled in many countries due to gender-based violence, limited sexual and reproductive health rights, and unequal access to land and property. However, this month, numerous efforts will be taken to advance equal rights for women: a summit in Nairobi to accelerate women's health rights, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and a major clean cooking forum to support female entrepreneurs.
