NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
Did you know that the Friends of the Redwood City Public Library sponsors the Library Takeover program? The Friends financial sponsorship allows the library to provide small grants of up to $1,000 to community members for the design and implementation of their library program or event.

The inaugural Library Takeover event on November 20, Transgender Day of Remembrance, was a tribute to transgender individuals who have lost their lives (read more here). There are 12 more Library Takeover programs scheduled over the next twelve months, ranging from an employment fair for individuals with autism to a Pacific Islander heritage celebration to three Arte y Cafecito nights (open paint, open mic performance, drum circle) at the Fair Oaks Branch Library.
